Newspaper’s circulation started in the 17th century. Different countries have different timelines to start the publication of Newspapers. In 1665, the 1st real newspaper was printed in England. The first American newspaper named “Public Occurrences Both Foreign and Domestic” was printed in 1690. Similarly, for Britain, it all starts in 1702 and in Canada, in the year 1752 the first newspaper named Halifax Gazette started its publication. In the late 19th century, newspapers became very common and were cheaply available due to the establishment of stamp duty on them. But, in the early 20th century, computer technology started replacing the old labor method of printing.
Humans are naturally curious to know about curious events of the world. The newspaper is the best thing to satisfy this curiosity. A newspaper is a paper containing news and views. It tells us what is happening at home and abroad also. We cannot describe the importance of reading newspapers in words. It is the storehouse of knowledge and information. People of all professions need newspapers. Most people including engineers, doctors, scientists, and other professionals need them to know every day’s news & views in their respective fields. Businessmen read newspapers to keep in touch with the latest economic and commercial trends in the country and see current share prices.
Politicians also need newspapers to read recent political events in the country. Other common people read newspapers to know how changes around them affect their life. Reading newspapers regularly makes a student updated. Students read newspapers to widen their knowledge and keep abreast of the recent developments in various fields be it in politics, economics, science, sports or art, and culture. A newspaper is an important tool for the learning process for students. We see advertisements in newspapers which are also very informative. These advertisements give lots of information about the world around us and recent trends apart from being very entertaining.
Newspaper is the mirror of the present world. So we should read the newspaper regularly.
